Hey my lovelies! As you probably already know I'm building up my own Mac pro palette and loving it! But i've realised I don't really want to use spaces with odd and out-of-place matte colours as I only have a few spaces left, so I decided to treat myself to to the Naked Basics palette!
I know I'm pretty late on the band wagon here (over a year...) and I'm so mad at myself for not getting this palette sooner!
All the colours in the palette are matte, apart from Venus wich has a slight shimmer too it, very pigmented and they have a smooth buttery texture which makes them easy to blend. The palette has all of those shades you always need but forget about (e.g. brow bone highlight, transition colour) and its tiny size and simplistic packaging make it perfect for travel (not to mention the huge mirror).
Lets take a closer look at the colours.
Venus is a very light shimmery cream colour with neutral undertone. This colour is the most creamy of all the shadows and is perfect for an inner corner highlight as its very pigmented.
Foxy is a Matte pale muted yellow and Walk of shame is a matte pal muted pink. These two colours are both very creamy and easy to blend and are perfect for all-over-the-lid colours or for highlighting the brow bone. Again these have a good pigmentation even though they are so light.
From top to bottom; Walk of shame, Foxy and Venus.
Naked 2 is a perfect cool-toned light brown transition colour for the crease, a wash of colour over the lid or even to fill in brows.
Faint is a cool-toned chocolate brown which is great to darken up a look by adding to the outer third & outer crease of the eye to add more definition or again to even use for brows.
And crave is a black that is perfect to at some drama and smokey-ness to any look.
From top to bottom; Crave, Faint, Naked 2.
I honestly have nothing negative to say about the palette apart from that it does smell a tad strange (which is odd since my Naked one smells completely fine), and the price. It retails for £20 which isn't too bad but is over half the price of the bigger Naked palettes and doesn't come with a brush, primer or lipgloss. However, each shadow works out to cost £3.33 and are 1.3 g where as Mac eyeshadows are 1.5 g and are £10 each! So in comparison to that its a great deal.
I think this palette is a great addition to any makeup lovers collection and is a must have for those who need a simple look for school or work.
Thanks for reading my loves!
Meg xoxo
